It’s never too early to learn the benefits of relaxation with Mindfulness for Children

March 4, 2015 - Many adults are starting to realise the benefits that mindfulness can bring to their lives. Helping to slow down their thoughts, relax and concentrate more on living in the moment. Parents who have experienced the many benefits of mindfulness have been wondering if the approach can work with children and the answer is a resounding yes!

Mindfulness for Children is a great app from Denmark which is being used in many schools and by child psychologists all across the country and now by parents and children all across the world.

The app helps children relax and will enhance their feelings of contentment. It can be used for purposes of general relaxation or as a teaching resource for all children although those with ADHD can also use it to help calm them down and achieve peace they sometimes find difficult to achieve on their own.

Mindfulness for Children has five audio tracks of varying lengths, between four and twenty five minutes long with different aims. They are all recorded professionally and are narrated by Perry Anne Norton with her calming voice guiding parents and children alike into a completely relaxed state of mind & body. There are also hand-chosen sounds of nature to enhance relaxation, falling and staying asleep.

Mindfulness for Children concentrates purely on body scans, visualizations and breathing exercises to help the children cultivate body awarness by training their muscle of attention and awareness of what is going on in their body and mind purposefully and without judgement.

The app is available to download from the Apple iTunes store for the bargain price of only $1.99. It will run on any iPhone, iPod Touch or iPad running iOS 5.0 or later. The individual music tracks can also be downloaded directly from the iTunes store either individually or as a collection. The App is also available on Google play store.
